Though they range from Hunter: The Reckonings gauntlet meets diablo isometric shooter to Vampire: Redeemer which is a linear and forgettable medieval horror rpg.īloodlines is the only one most know of because its one of those games like MGS, Half Life or Ocarina of Time that stands up and remains one of the best games you will ever play. Vampire has 3, Werewolf had one that was almost finished but never shipped, Hunter has 3 and the Changeling game was cancelled weeks after it left preproduction.
Theres actually plenty of games in White Wolfs World of Darkness universe of tabletop rpgs the game is adapted from. Is this how it goes for you guys that come back to this game every few years? And of course understanding the game's mechanics better, I think I could do better. I heard they have totally different lines since they are insane, so I am curious how the game would play out. Last night I had planned to uninstall the game and move on, but now I am curious about a Malkavian playthough. That thought hit me early and as I played through the game I imagined what at "Witcher 3-Version" of Bloodlines could be and how terribly immersive it could be.įor now, Bloodlines is it. I suppose fans of this game have been asking this question a lot longer than I have, but the game stood out to me as something very much akin to the first Witcher game.very rough around the edges, but with a solid core that could be improved upon. What stood out to me as I was playing was, how come this never got a sequel or update.
And of course I encountered quite a few bugs even with the latest unofficial patch. The actual gameplay reminded me a lot of Deus Ex, and although you don't need to have high skills with Lockpicking or Hacking, as with all games with these elements, you feel like you're missing out if you don't max them. The controls are pretty busted though, and the character models are bizarrely animated (I'm looking at you sneak animation!!!), so the game has some big flaws going in. The music and voice acting are fantastic, and the actual dialogue was pretty damn good. Despite being about 14 years old, I thought it holds up pretty well in terms of graphics. I can definitely see why the game has a cult following. I've always heard it was a classic and its an amazing game with a huge cult following, but I was never in the mood to give it a try until now. Talk about being late to the party! I just finished playing through Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines after having it sitting in my library for over 4 years.
