Last night I had planned to uninstall the game and move on, but now I am curious about a Malkavian playthough. That thought hit me early and as I played through the game I imagined what at "Witcher 3-Version" of Bloodlines could be and how terribly immersive it could be.įor now, Bloodlines is it. I suppose fans of this game have been asking this question a lot longer than I have, but the game stood out to me as something very much akin to the first Witcher game.very rough around the edges, but with a solid core that could be improved upon. And of course I encountered quite a few bugs even with the latest unofficial patch. The actual gameplay reminded me a lot of Deus Ex, and although you don't need to have high skills with Lockpicking or Hacking, as with all games with these elements, you feel like you're missing out if you don't max them. The controls are pretty busted though, and the character models are bizarrely animated (I'm looking at you sneak animation!!!), so the game has some big flaws going in. The music and voice acting are fantastic, and the actual dialogue was pretty damn good. Despite being about 14 years old, I thought it holds up pretty well in terms of graphics. I can definitely see why the game has a cult following. I've always heard it was a classic and its an amazing game with a huge cult following, but I was never in the mood to give it a try until now. Talk about being late to the party! I just finished playing through Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines after having it sitting in my library for over 4 years.
